I believe that the best thing a Brand can offer is a feeling.

So I focus on working closely with multidisciplinary teams to find solutions to design and brand problems that are rooted in strategic insights, embrace creative concepts and while utalitarian reach for emotion.


What does it mean to me to be an Experience Designer? It means living your life to the fullest. Remembering it. Analyzing it. And applying it to create experiences for others.
Here's a snippet of my life:

When I was a kid I put washing machine powder in the salt container. I was curious. Mom was not amused.


At 14 I hung out with the goth kids. I understood the meaning of the color black.


At 16 I visited Prague and bought my first vinyl. 8 years later I got my first record player.


I used to sword fight. Not the fencing type. The iron cast blade type of swordfighting.


I once entered Language Olympics. I didn't win but I made friends with amazing Role Playing Gamers.

WHY?





Doomsday Preppers, The Walking Dead, The Mayan Prophecies. It seems our culture is obsessed with the End of Days. Even if most of us take such predictions with a grain of salt, there are some that enjoy learning about and preparing for the Apocalypse, even if they are not quite sure it is coming. AFTER is a magazine just for them.


WHAT?



Animated backgrounds, sounds, and color and texture adjustments create an immersive experience for the reader. When browsing the Zombie edition the user can encounter shadows created by oncoming zombies appearing across the screen when nearing the bloody machette and axe. The Nuclear Edition features sounds of changing radio stations when the user nears the portable radio. All of those details help highten the emotional state of the user, making the application not just enjoyable to look at and read, but experience.




Then we created a line of products called AFTER ESSENTIALS. a variety of items that encompass the same attidute the Digital Magazine Brand encompasses.

Radiation Resistant iPad case with solar panels for continuous power.

Zombie Blood Tester; test any Zombie suspects discretely before they join your team.

Control the masses with The Chosen One Priest collar, letting them believe God is speaking thru you.

HOW?



Because the digital magazine is created strictly for the tablet, I created an extended interaction grid. This allows the user to move around the experience by swiping left, right, up and down. Touch points set across this grid are assigned to items, and will become visible when the items come into view. Each item then allows users to explore stories that vary from Survivalist Recipes, to Narrative Choose-You-Own-Adventure Essays.





On tap the logo turns into an navigation tool. On the right offering utilities to help prepare the user for the end of days. On the bottom a quick way to move through different types of Apocalypse.
